Jesse Howard | Artificial Sunset, A.P. #5 | Signed and numbered light sculpture

14,8 × 10,5 × 1,5 cm
3D printed plastic, acrylic, paper and electronics

Inspired by countless postcards depicting the sunset over palm trees and sandy beaches.
This postcard artificially recreates this moment of receded light repeatedly, one time per minute.

Constructed form digitally fabricated parts and DIY electronics, the card contains colored lights that are programed to change color and intensity in order to mimic the setting sun.

Jesse Howard is an Amsterdam-based designer/researcher focusing on creating objects that question the established relationship between designers, producers, and users, and as a result speculate on new systems of making.
